Chemistry is Fun

Assalamualaikum dan selamat datang ke blog saya, nama saya Wan Marlini bt. Wan Ahmad. My baby” my lil’ sis, terima kaseh adik! Jadi semoga anda mendapat banyak perkara yang seronok di blog saya ni... so, video dibawah ini menceritakan secara ringkas tentang wujudnya blog pendidikan (kimia) ini...have fun!!

made it from PICASA application.. :)

soda bottle water rocket

example the bottle rocket dat already done

so..let we go through according step by step to proceed da making of bottle rocket

Peel all labels off of the bottles.
Measure up from the bottle about a Third and cut the bottle. Try to keep your cut line as straight as possible. It may help to mark a straight line around the bottle first. Be sure to recycle or reuse any scrap pieces.

Experiment with your own fin designs. i choose a more squared off design, but you can use curves if you like.. you will need a minimum of 3. then, you need to split your bottle into 3 cards, which equals 120 degrees. to make sure there is balancing between the cards.

Open your adhesive (or glue of your choice). Squeeze out a small amount (enough to do one fin). Mix the epoxy with a scrap piece of foam core (this will be your "brush" too). PRE-Mark your bottle (with the marker) where you want your fins to line up. Make sure the fins fit your bottle BEFORE putting any glue on them. Trim, or adjust if needed. Apply the Epoxy to your fin, and attach it to the bottle.

This is where the spray paint comes in.
used BLACK and a Bright Green so that the rocket would be easy to spot while up in the air!
Decorate your rocket any way you like! Flames, spots, checkers, glitter, etc...
Use your extra markers to add any fine details or words (I put H20 on mine so everyone would know this is a water rocket). Add some pin stripes, etc...

(note: as you can see from this photo, I also added some additional tape to the fins for extra support. Do this BEFORE painting.)Perhaps, I should have mentioned this before, this rocket has been added the parachute! What goes up, must come down.

WORDS OF CAUTION:
DO NOT launch this rocket near people, a crowd, small animals, streets or cars or houses... in other words... take your rocket out to the middle of nowhere and launch it in a safe place.
so..its already to be launched

here da videos about the soda bottle water rocket:

How to make volcano

1.First make the 'cone' of the baking soda volcano. Mix 6 cups flour, 2 cups salt, 4 tablespoons cooking oil, and 2 cups of water. The resulting mixture should be smooth and firm (more water may be added if needed).

2.Stand the soda bottle in the baking pan and mold the dough around it into a volcano shape. Don't cover the hole or drop dough into it.

3.Fill the bottle most of the way full with warm water and a bit of red food color (can be done before sculpting if you don't take so long that the water gets cold).

4.Add 6 drops of detergent to the bottle contents. The detergent helps trap the bubbles produced by the reaction so you get better lava.

5.Add 2 tablespoons baking soda to the liquid.

6.Slowly pour vinegar into the bottle. Watch out - eruption time!

Diet cokes and Mentos!!!

Posted by Marlini

Wah!!! menarik apabila air bikarbonat seperti coca cola apabila diletakkan Mentos ia akan menghasilkan tindakbalas ledakan air cokes seperti air pancutan.

"Experiments in a 2006 edition of the Discovery Channel programme Mythbusters suggested the chemicals responsible for the reaction are gum arabic and gelatine in the sweets, and caffeine, potassium benzoate and aspartame in the Coke."

Bagaimana tindakbalas ini berlaku? Jom baca!!

"The physical structure of the Mentos is the most significant cause of the eruption due to nucleation. When flavored Mentos with a smooth waxy coating were tested in carbonated water, no reaction occurred, whereas standard Mentos added to carbonated water formed a small eruption, affirming the nucleation-site theory. The surface of the mint Mentos is littered with many small holes, allowing CO2 bubbles to form very rapidly and in great quantity, in turn causing the jet of foam. This was further supported when rock salt was used as an effective substitute for Mentos."

*Jadi anda boleh la mencuba untuk melihat hasil yang sebenar dan berhati-hati semasa melakukan eksperimen ini. Selamat Mencuba!!
